Mayor pulls vote on law from agenda
A proposed law that would update and codify the way in which city employees, volunteers and appointees are legally protected in case they are drawn into a lawsuit while doing their city business will have to wait.
Mayor John Safford held the second of what was to be two public hearings on the law Tuesday Sept. 3, but pulled voting on the law from his portion of the city council’s agenda, and kept the public hearing on the issue open.
Both the mayor and the Saratoga Springs Assistant City Attorney Tony Izzo took flack from council members Dillon Moran and Minita Sanghvi as well as people who spoke during the public hearing.
