Applying for National Grid help
Saratoga County Chamber President Todd Shimkus has been in direct contact with National Grid as the power outages that have left damage to some businesses downtown have wondered who is to blame and if there is financial help available, he tells the Dispatch. National Grid has encouraged property or business owners to file a claim with the company if they feel the system was to blame.

From North Broadway to the Races
July 27, Sunday, 10:30 a.m.: Join the Saratoga Preservation Foundation’s Executive Director Samantha Bosshart, for “Horsin’ Around North Broadway.” The stroll explores the ties between Saratoga Springs' North Broadway neighborhood and the city’s rich horse racing heritage. Discover the connection between prominent racing families—like the Jeffords, Chenery, and Phipps—and the grand summer cottages of this historic neighborhood. The tour, generously sponsored by Olde Bryan Inn, meets at the northwest corner of North Broadway and Van Dam Street, in front of Witt Construction, from a press release.
