My kids (now adults) and I are hard core Simpson's fans. I love the fact that upstate New York references pepper their episodes. I particularly liked when Grandpa Simpson says he was once voted the handsomest boy in Schenectady, NY. It was the farthest flung corner of the vaudeville circuit and the most provincial in the eyes of the performers. The city has been included in punchlines in many sit-coms.
