Splatter time? Santa events selling out.
PLUS: Comic Con pics! (And why I couldn't get a pic of my fave costume)
đŚ The Dispatch will be a little lighter this week, so we can all â both readers and writers â have more time to spend with family and friends. Have a special week, Saratoga! đŚ
My fave Comic Con costume â and why I couldnât get a pic
The 11th Comic Con brought the regionâs most hardcore costume lovers to the Saratoga City Center this past weekend â and as you can see, they came in droves. Sadly, I didnât get a pic of my favorite costume of all, however. (Any guesses?) A 14-year-old whose mom called Comic Con âhis favorite holidayâ told me he had already disappeared on assignment. He had dressed up as investigative journalist â complete with a giant video camera from the â90s â and had skipped off to chase down a story.
Swoon.

Opening Night of Santaâs Magical Express sells out
If you were hoping to recuperate from Black Friday shopping with a family night on the Magical Express, youâre out of luck â all four time slots for the popular holiday activity are completely sold out â as is Sunday. (As of this writing, a few tickets are left for Saturday.) Luckily, the âmost wonderful ride of the yearâ runs until Tuesday, Dec. 23. If youâre new to Yankee Trailsâ âSantaâs Magical Express,â itâs a beloved interactive bus ride that departs from Crossgates Mall for a thrilling 100-minute ride with classic holiday characters such as Mrs. Claus and Frosty the Snowman. This yearâs story invites Christmas fans of all ages to help rescue Santaâs hat from Jack Frost â without it, Dec. 25 might be cancelled. (Click on the above embed for another adorable Santa event the company is throwing, on Dec. 30.)

Splatter Room? Paint & Dripâs big plans for new locale
Paint & Drip â a sober version of the former Paint & Sip on Henry Street â is moving to the Wilton Mall. And it has big plans for the new, larger space. For starters, the company is going all in with the littles (think classes, kids camps and artsy birthday parties). Plus, thereâs a heroically-named Splatter Room for âreally unloading some stress.â There will also be new workshops in drip art, butterfly collaging, sea glass art and candle-making â and even a whimsical alcohol-free tiki bar. The studio is planning a soft launch Nov. 29.
