📌 ICYMI…

🗳️ Super Bowl poll results

Not only did 67% of you agree with most sports analysts that the Seahawks will triumph over the Patriots on Sunday, but 63% of you said you want them to. (I honestly thought that number would be higher.) You were, however, less sure than the professionals — at ESPN, to name one outlet, 82.8% picked the Seattle team over New England.

Fightin’ words

Dunkin, meanwhile, disagrees — and isn’t apologizing for rooting for the Patriots. Click on the above pic to the coffee and donut brand’s official map that shows zero Dunkin locations in the state of Washington. New England, however? 2,011 — four of which are right here in Saratoga Springs, out of more than 50 in the Capital Region.

Super Bowl ad watch: Massachusetts’ son Ben Affleck phoned a friend or three — including two actual Friends — to tease his Dunkin Super Bowl ad, which didn’t exactly impress Jennifer Aniston.

Be like Ben and have some chowda — tomorrow at Chowderfest!

It could be as low as 9 degrees when Chowderfest kicks off tomorrow at 11 a.m. If it feels even colder (-13 anyone?), blame the 12-13 mph northwest winds they’re also predicting. Single digits could break the record as the coldest Chowderfest ever — and don’t you want to help make history?

For participating restaurants, street closure info and more, visit discoversaratoga.org.

But first, coffee?

If you’re coming in from the Halfmoon area tomorrow for Chowderfest and want to first warm your belly with a strong cup of joe, stop by Boutique & Coffee Made Simple (1471 Route 9, 518-280-3745). Online coffee reviewer Joseph Padin of The Daily Brew Review Insta and the new Behind the Roast podcast (you might recognize him from his reviews on Walt Cafe, Kru and Saratoga Chocolate, to name a few) will be guest barista from 8-11 a.m.

📰 IN BRIEF

Joel Moss honored at the Grammys

Of all the years to miss the Grammy Awards…Saratoga’s own Joel Moss was honored during the In Memoriam tribute, reports Jonathon Norcross in Saratoga Today. Sad I missed it; Saratoga misses you, Joel.

Putnam Street lot denied park transformation

That wasted space next to the Putnam Place parking lot will remain vacant — at least for now, says Saratoga Civic Pulse, which has all the details. At last night’s Planning Board meeting, a proposal to designate the area as an interim public park was unanimously denied, says the outlet. “The Board expressed significant reservations regarding public safety, lighting, and the lack of a secondary emergency exit,” but the applicant was encouraged to clean up the space.

Saratogian on TV

Survivalist I am not. But Saratogian Katie Kratovil — who’s on this season of Extracted on Fox — is up to the task. The 29-year-old business professional sat down with Norcross to talk about her training, her sisters’ involvement, and much more in “Saratogian Battles the Elements in FOX Survival Competition Show”.

TGIF, Dispatchers!
