The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in the greater Saratoga Springs area until 8:30 p.m.
WNYT is reporting a downed tree is blocking two southbound lanes of the Interstate-87 Adirondack Northway near Exit 14. Traffic on Google maps appears slow in that area (updated July 10, 8:19 p.m.) .

At about 8:30 p.m. cars could be seen backing up the on ramp from the Exit 14 southbound interchange of I-87, carefully re-entering Union Avenue. Police forced traffic off the highway at Exit 14.
According to NWS meteorologist Steve DiRienzo early reports indicate Saratoga Springs got as much as 1.11 inches and a top wind gust of 43 mph. He explained that these are early reports taken by weather spotters in the city.
A location on Crescent Avenue registered 0.3 inches and a 43 mph gust. Elsewhere the city saw 0.52 inches.
In downtown Saratoga, a portion of the construction fence at Division Street and Broadway had been blown over. In the block or two west — downhill — of Broadway, many intersections were flooded in the fast moving storm.
Marble sized hail fell in downtown.
The video at the top of the story was shot on Phila Street at about 7:35 p.m.
The National Grid Power Outage map is showing very limited power outages in the region.
Glens Falls was hit by a separate storm that delivered gusts over 60 mph.
Weather apps show that the main thrust of the storm is behind us, but DiRienzo said that rain is still likely.
