Inside 2025's Victorian Street Walk
Who's lighting the tree? Who's leading the parade? All the details!
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Saratoga has won “Most Festive in the USA” honors over the years for good reason — and next Thursday, Dec. 4 it will all be on full display for Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association’s Victorian Street Walk. Downtown will transform into a winter wonderland at 6 p.m. with a traditional tree-lighting ceremony, featuring Make-A-Wish children and their families. The 27-foot Balsam is sure to be a sight to behold, towering above the city and beautifully adorned with flowers by Saratoga Springs’ own fabulous florist, Samantha Nass.
Following the lighting, Saratoga Springs Cheerleaders and dancers from The Dance Lab will lead Santa in a parade full of pointed toes and graceful turns. Then be sure to visit Santa in his cottage before the event wraps up at 9.
Broadway will come alive with holiday cheer at every turn. More than 25 sites offering free performances and productions include pop-ups from local food vendors such as Adirondack Kettle Corn and Maple Valley Farms Cotton Candy. I’d also suggest heading over to Saratoga Candy Co. to try to talk to Noel the Spokes Pig and snatch up one of their famous Peppermint Pigs.
Performance is a large part of the Victorian Street walk; this year’s highlights include a local Saratoga Springs High School band, the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Choir, Acadia Rae performing with her hula hoop, and balloon artist Mr. Twisty.
This 39th annual event is about bringing the Saratoga community together through food, festivities, and a little bit of holiday magic. To give back to the community that makes this celebration possible, there are also opportunities to learn about and support local charities. The Witch Walkers of SOSA will be performing and are well known for donating to causes that support animals. Toys for Toga will be featured at G. Willikers. Celebrating its 13th annual holiday toy drive, Toys for Toga has helped more than 1,500 local children each year.
Adding to the enchantment, one of the most magical parts of the Victorian Street Walk is the live dancers in the storefront windows. They move like the most perfect dolls, bringing each display to life with graceful spins and elegant poses. Visitors of all ages can’t help but be mesmerized, and their presence makes the streets feel alive with holiday spirit. Combined with the festive music, delicious treats, dazzling lights, talented performers, and heartwarming charitable efforts, the Victorian Street Walk is a must-see celebration that perfectly captures the magic of the season.
