Where should we go first, Dispatchers?
It took me longer than Iβd hoped, but the weekly events calendar is back. And this time itβs a lot snazzier than anything I could whip up in a Word doc.
Remember: Iβm a journo nerd figuring this out right alongside you. Iβve had a few sleepless nights finishing up what turned out to be an ENORMOUS project (and thereβs more to come!), so todayβs dispatch is a bit shorter than usual. Hopefully, the Halloween festivities will be enough of a distractionβ¦
So, with all these events (!), what should we do first? Hit reply and tell me whatβs on your list.

A new ramen era dawns in Saratoga Springs

The hip new noodle places opening in town are causing hysteria online. (Stock image by RDNE on Pexels)
Kuma Ani has brought Japanese flavors, good vibes, and β of course β epic ramen to the βhood. The precision and soul-warming authenticity that noodle-heads had to drive to Albany, Troy, or Latham for has officially opened at 23-25 Division Street in Saratoga Springs.Β
Menu highlight include apps such as pork buns and Japanese fried chicken, tonkotsu and tori ramen, butadon donburi (Pork char-sis, marinated egg and scallion, furikake rice), and cheese mein (noodles with cheese sauce, bacon, scallions).
Customers are β¦ here for it.Β
Borderline hysterical anticipation on Facebook included this from Alicia Smort: βOMG......I AM SO HAPPY AND CANNOT WAIT TO VISIT THE NEW LOCATION! I just went to have ramen at my buddy's place on Wolf Rd today (Saturday) and heard about your opening date in Toga. We will be there supporting 100% Thank you for being the Best Ramen in New York. PERIOD Mic Drop!!β
And for those who canβt digest gluten or are vegan, there are plenty of options on the menu.Β
If it seems like a new ramen place opens up on the reg here now, youβre not wrong. The ramen noodle market, in case you were wondering, is growing everywhere β not just in βToga. The noodle market, for those who like data, is expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 7.9%. Impressive!Β
