Dinner Club launch party pics are here! PLUS: A Saratogian joins MLB.
Yesterday, I started reading Welcome to Murder Week by Karen Dukess, whom I’m meeting this weekend at a book festival in the Hamptons. The protagonist’s origin story? Abandoned by her mom — who ran off to “meet a new boyfriend at the racetrack in Saratoga Springs.”
At some point, a Manhattan editor nodded gravely, concurring that our racetrack is shorthand for moral collapse.
Meet you at the bottom of the moral ladder in just seven weeks.

🥘 DINING
Back in action

After a quick change of hands, revered hotspot 15 Church is re-opened for business. The new menu kicked off at 4 p.m. yesterday, boasting an expanded raw bar menu (tuna carpaccio, vertical bay scallops, a raw bar flight and even a Bocage-style caviar bump).
There’s now a Snacks menu, too — think potato croquettes, house-made pickles and Vidalia onion rings.
Crowd favorites such as the ricotta gnocchi à la Bolognese, sea bass with bok choy, and the street noodle entrée have stayed firmly put.
⚾ SPORTSBALL
Red Sox call up a familiar face
If you’re watching the Red Sox/Twins game right now (I won’t tell), keep your eyes peeled for pitcher Jack Anderson. The 26-year-old righty had a huge day yesterday, reports MLB.com. He woke up in Nashville — where his AAA team (Worcester) was playing — and then was called up (to Major League Baseball!!) and flown to Minneapolis, where he made it in time to join the game.
For more on the actual baseball of it all, check out that MLB article. My job is to tell you that a source tells me that Anderson spends his summers right here in Saratoga.
VOLUNTEERING
Drivers in need for senior meal delivery
The Saratoga County Department of Aging and Youth Services has an immediate need for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound seniors who live in the greater Greenfield area; meals are picked up at Galway Town Hall and delivered to residents.
Schedules are flexible, with a minimum commitment of only once a week. Meals are picked up at 11 a.m. and delivered until 1 p.m. each weekday.
The program helps seniors (age 60 and older) remain independent and in their own homes, by providing them with a nutritious and ready-to-eat lunch.
To volunteer for this essential program, call 518-363-4020 today.
📰 IN BRIEF
Feeling it
New Yorkers’ consumer confidence is at its “lowest point in years — and the future looks even shakier,” says an Ish Bulletin report on the findings of a new Siena poll. The poll was taken in early March, pre gas prices hike. Ouch.
That incident yesterday
I try to stay away from crime, but this deadly fight was all anyone was talking about yesterday. An arrest was made, reports the Times Union, which ran a synopsis of the whole day’s sad events.
Spring is here, Dispatchers
And your pets are ready to step into warmer weather — now that it’s finally decided to show up — in style. The Pampered Pooch and Pals has skipped the corporate vibe for a more relaxed, Ballston Spa feel.
Whether you’re troubleshooting a picky eater or hunting for a harness that can actually handle a hike, they take the time to really listen and help you find a fix that works — plus, their shelves are packed with high-end food and small-batch treats.
The real heart of the shop is their hands-on care. Doggie Daycare is a low-stress hangout where social pups can just be dogs, and the Grooming suite is all about turning scruffy adventurers into the best-looking pups on the block.
Together with our friends at Pampered Pooch!

I can’t believe it’s already been a week since the Dispatch Dinner Club launch! Special thanks to Coat Room, who hosted our after-party. We packed the place (wall to wall!), ordering Snowbirds (IYKYK) and gossiping about having dinner with strangers.
