'Is that you?' The power of live events
PLUS: 👀 ISO psychics, tarot readers, crystal vendors, artists. 🗓️ Weekly events calendar June 11-17
“Mary Anne?”
I turned, hearing the name of someone I had been really wanting to meet.
But upon seeing I was not Mary Anne, the lovely woman apologized, “Sorry, we’re just looking for our friend.”
Friend.
The moment was gone in a flash, but I turned around and silently whooped with joy. Then I got back to the Alumni Happy Hour I was throwing at Keuka Spring for anyone who had come to one of my dinner clubs.
New friendships made over dinner, at the Dispatch Dinner Club.
Pinch me.

FEATURED EVENT
ISO: psychics, tarot readers, crystal vendors, horror artists.
Haunted in New York’s Paranormal and Metaphysical Experience takes over the Saratoga Springs City Center on August 15 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) — and the immersion into New York paranormal culture is still looking to fill the last few vendor slots.
“The goal is to create an exciting and memorable event that appeals both to serious paranormal enthusiasts and curious newcomers,” says the event’s founder, Shelley Petit. “We are currently looking for vendors that fit within the paranormal, metaphysical, mystical, horror, oddities, alternative healing, fantasy, folklore and handcrafted artisan communities.”
In the running: paranormal investigators, haunted attractions, psychics, tarot readers, crystal and jewelry vendors, horror artists, authors, gothic and fantasy creators, taxidermy and oddities vendors, spiritual wellness businesses, candle-makers and apothecary vendors. “Vendors who offer interactive experiences, demonstrations or visually engaging booths,” she says, “are especially encouraged to apply.”
👉 Interested? Email Shelley at: hauntedinny@gmail.com or call 518.775.7782.
