Were you seen by Seen in Saratoga Weds night?
PLUS: Saratogian (back) in the big leagues. Wild Horse, Take 2.
Can we Gen Xers request a participation trophy every once in awhile?
This week was a doozy!
Thanks for being along for the (really fun, jet-lagged-for-me) ride.
TGIF, everybody.

Wednesday night report: Were you seen by Seen in Saratoga?
Photos by Seen in Saratoga
Huge thanks to the more than 50 fun, local A-listers who came out Wednesday night for the second Dispatch Dinner Club! And oh, boy, things got a little spicy…
Since the event series’ launch, there have been multiple table reunions, a poetry reading, boozy friend dates, a love match, and so much more … And about Wednesday night? Reading the post-event reviews (my lips are sealed) required 🍿.
And while all of these fun connections were being made, we filled tables at Familiar Creature, Omakase, Chianti, Seneca, Brasserie Benelux and The Market.
Special thanks to The Misfit, which threw us a KILLER after-party!

On June 17, we’ll do it all again — with new people, some new restaurants, new people at your table for returning diners, post-dinner reunions, and more … Join us!
Saratogian returns to the big leagues
Pitcher Jack Anderson, who I’ve been told summers in Saratoga, is back in the Red Sox bullpen tonight. Fingers crossed they put him in! For more on the sportsball of it all, you’ll have to check out an outlet such as CBS Sports or Mass Live.
Wild Horse re-opens its doors
I popped into Wild Horse, my neighbor down Caroline Street that just reopened after closing for the winter for renovations, to have a peek around. Soon, the stunning back room is going to open as the Kashmir Lounge, a Wednesday night piano bar and weekend live music venue. Until then, stop in for a casual drink at the friendly front bar (hi, Grace!), a customized cheese plate, or a delicious sit-down dinner of small plates such as Nashville Hot Bao Buns or Spanish traditions such as patatas bravas or lamb meatballs with pistachio and mint.
Potions and lotions at Petal + Hive
You’re invited to Petal + Hive (510 Broadway) on May 17, to embrace your mad scientist energy and create two custom small-batch serums using professional cosmetic chemistry equipment — including overhead mixers and a homogenizer.
Join cosmetic chemist (and the store’s amazing owner) Jillian Ehrenberg at the lab bench to see what it’s actually like to formulate skincare from scratch. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll watch the formulas come together in real time while learning why certain ingredients are chosen, how textures and skin feel are adjusted, and what separates a thoughtfully formulated product from a generic one.
At the end of the workshop, bottle up your work — you’ll take home full-size, ready-to-use skincare products.

Local Derby winner will skip the Preakness
Remember Wednesday when I wrote that my gut was telling me it’d be great if I could hold off writing about Kentucky Derby winner Cherie DeVaux and the Preakness? Alas, the history-making trainer from Saratoga announced that she was skipping the race not 20 minutes later.
But the Dispatch Dinner Club waits for no one!
Rest up, Golden Tempo — I hope to see you in Saratoga at the Belmont.
